Description
Born and raised on the island of Kauai, I had the privilege of growing up in a prominent developer and general contracting family with deep roots on the Garden Island. My grandfather, Jim Blackwell, founded Blackwell Builders in Lihue in 1969 and Sleeping Giant Realty in 1974. The legacy of our family's developments, including Hanalei Palms, Anini Vista, Kauai Gardens, Sleeping Giant Half Acres, Wailua Half Acres, Poipu Crater, Poipu Makai, and Poipu Palms, is a testament to their impact on the island's landscape.
My early exposure to the construction industry through my father's company, Curtis Law Construction, instilled in me the values of hard work, ethical behavior, and perseverance. Previously working as a project manager and estimator, I gained invaluable experience and developed a deep understanding of the construction industry. I'm grateful for the trust and confidence my father placed in me, which has paved the way for me to earn credibility in the Kauai community.
With over two decades of experience in real estate, I hold a real estate broker's license and have earned designations as a CRS (Certified Residential Specialist), SFR (Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource), and ePro (an online marketing and social media certification). Throughout my career, I have held various leadership roles within the Kauai Board of Realtors, including serving as Chair for the Professional Standards Committee and President in 2021.
Specializing in residential sales and property management, I have built a strong portfolio of over 50 long-term rentals and 7 vacation rentals. I am dedicated to providing honest, ethical, and professional service to each client, and many of them become long-lasting friends who trust me for their real estate needs.
Beyond real estate, I have a deep love for my island home and a passion for historical, cultural, and rural preservation. When I'm not hard at work, you can find me traveling, indulging in photography, enjoying beach days, and immersing myself in home improvement projects. I'm also a proud mom to a college student studying Anthropology in Hilo.
